So, my understanding is that I could get a apple remote to work on a Windows 8 machine with in-built CIR (which the Intel NUC has) through using IRSS.

However, when I set up the IRSS, and try to use the translator, it doesn't show that it would receive any button presses from the remote.

Am I doing this correctly? I've added mac mini as a configuration device on the IR server, and yes the server is running and the CIR pops up correctly at the device manager.

Has anyone else attempted this?...

I've just installed MP 1.6 today (from release, not cvn) and also installed IRSS from, the tools section. I got the TV3 blaster configured for my STB and all the "test" channel changes work fine.

I didn't bother yet to get my remote set up for everything, I just used the Tv guide/Mouse to select a channel to see if the channels would blast. Spent all afternoon at it with no luck.

I figure I'm probably missing something simple but just don't have the experience with MP to see what it is.

Hello all,

After nearly a year of everything working great for me, I had MP basically crash because the database became very corrupted after I did some manual deleting of old recorded TV shows. I decided to just uninstall the entire thing, and start with the latest releases of everything. I cannot, for the life of me, get blasting working again. I've been using IRSS for years and it works very well.

I have an HTPC with A/V receiver and HDTV. I use IRSS to turn the receiver and TV on and off when the HTPC turns on and off. I have the power command for the receiver and the command for the TV programmed into translator. Then I have a macro which blasts both power commands (on different ports), and I set the macro to run when the system is suspended or resumed.

This works great if the system is setup to hibernate, however as you know...

Hello,

i want to use my PVR_HD2 to get tv from my SKY HD set top box

i have a serial blaster that is able to control the stb using winlirc or also eventghost sending commands to winlirc.

so i think the chain eventghost --> winlirc --> serial blaster ----> is ok

After a while of studying i tried to configure irss to send commands to winlirc

but always when i send a command to winlirc the command seems to not produce anything on winlirc and also irss server crash without errors just closes....

Hi, maybe someone can help me with two things:

1) I have got a Panasonic TV and i want to blast the Power button. I learned the ir code and blast the "tv off" which is working fine, but to turn the tv on you have to press the power button 3-4 seconds. how can i do this with the irblaster or translator?


2) When i check the "disable automatic buttons" the scroilling speed is slower than otherwise. I tried to set the button held dely to 0, but it isnt so fast as if the automatic buttons are...

Hey. I am trying to set up my MCE remote as a mouse when I jump over to my web browser. When I first install IRSS translator reads my remote signals fine - although a few buttons don't appear to work. However when I go back into the configuration tool and IRSS restarts itself then it loses all connections and none of my buttons work.

Any ideas?

I have two computers and for whatever reason IR learning is not working on one of them. I have the IR command learned on the second PC, is there any way to export it and import it on the machine that refuses to learn the command?

Hi since I own a VIP2202 STB, I lose my scheduled recording due to the STB going "away mode" when it's not used.

If I could blast "select" before the recording (to wake the STB), then the STB will change channel properly.

Is there an option to tell to blast "select" before a scheduled recording? If not Maybe it could be a nice addon in the settings.

I have created a patch for the MCE Tranceiver IRSS plugin that fixes the problem where the blaster does not work after resuming from standby (see http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/yet-another-resume-from-standby-problem.58204/).

There hasn't been many comments on the forums about this problem for a while, so I assume either nobody uses their blasters or everyone is applying the workaround from the linked forum. I thought I would share the patch just in case .

I am moving off of a beyondTv setup and trying to move to MediaPortal. My setup is that I have a Hauppauge winTv 418 dual tuner/analog capture card (not hybrid as I can record simultaneously). To each analog input, I have 2 DirectTv receivers attached (SD format - not HD). They are the same model (R12-100) but different remote codes. I have USBUIRT controlling them. I have double press of MCE buttons (left/right and others) everywhere, including Debug Client.
I change 'remote button timing' to 2000/1000, but still no effect.
Latest IR Server 1.5.0.81

Also, stop button not work at all, even in Debug Client, and even MCE receiver not blink.

I've just bought Pulse-Eight USB HDMI CEC adapter and would like to add support of it to IRSS. The support should be separated into receiver plugin and custom command to control HDMI connected devices. It looks like implementation of receiver plugin is easy task, but all the commands are hardcoded in the sources. Is it possible to add custom command as plugin DLL?

I am very impressed with IR Server Suite so far.

One problem that is stopping me from submitting this for WAF evaluation is the repeat rate on keyboard presses converted to IR commands for volume control.

I have a wireless keyboard and have set translator to map the volume keys through to IR commands blasted out via MCE remote transceiver to my hifi.

I wanted to see if anyone has been successful on creating IRSS Translator codes for DirecTV remote controls? What I need are combination codes, like when I press channel 229 for HGTV. Whenever I try to learn 229 and name it, it doesn't take all the button presses on the remote control.
